Associate Medical Director, Program Integrity and Integration
Jennifer Eklund, MD, is the Associate Medical Director of Program Integrity and Integration for government programs at AIM Specialty Health® (AIM). In her role, she is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to help ensure the clinical and operational integrity of our solutions for Medicare, Medicaid, and dual-eligible members.
Prior to joining the government programs team in 2014, Dr. Eklund served as a Senior Physician Reviewer, where she managed case reviews and peer discussions, acted as a liaison with health plan medical directors, and trained new physician reviewers. Additionally, she was responsible for internal auditing and quality improvement.
Board certified in emergency medicine, Dr. Eklund is a highly accomplished physician leader with more than a decade of hands-on clinical experience. Prior to joining AIM, she served as an attending physician in the emergency department for a private hospital in a western Chicago suburb. As a supervising physician, she trained and mentored medical, nursing, paramedic, and physician assistant students.
Dr. Eklund received her Bachelor of Arts degree in microbiology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She earned her Doctor of Medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed her residency at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University. Dr. Eklund is a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and a certified SAFe® 5 Agilist.
